Safari does Windows

Good news Windows users! You can now download Safari (Apple's internet browser) for use on Windows XP & Vista. Unfortunately Zaadz doesn't seem too compatible with Safari 3 Beta, but as people gobble up iPhones (which use Safari), maybe the Zaadz gods will get that fixed.
UPDATE: Zaadz's rich text editor now works with Safari 3, see Jake's comment below.

Hey Phil -
Most of our dev team uses Mac OS X on a daily basis. The only major feature that we know doesn’t currently work on Safari is our rich text editor; it’s been disabled on Safari for quite a while now.
However, it looks like Safari’s issues with the text editor (tinymce) are no more. I’m working on a way to turn it back on selectively for the new Safari but leave it off for the older versions.
If you notice any other strange issues while using Safari 3, please let me know. zPro was made on a Mac, so it sure as hell better work ok there ;)
Thanks Jake! I was referring to the text editor. I’m glad this has been fixed in Safari 3 and am looking forward to it being turned back on.
Hey Phil and Jake,
I’m not the most computer savvy gal so I’m trying to translate what you’re saying here. I’m a mac user too and I’m wondering if the text editor issue is the reason I can never figure out how to put words in italics. So is Safari 3 Beta the newest version?
I’m really happy to hear that the zaadz team is developing all of this on Macs. That must be why I hardly ever run into any problems here and it boosts my confidence in this site even more.

Hi Nicole
You are correct. I believe Zaadz was having some issues with Safari 2 in regard to the Zaadz rich text editor (a toolbar that appears on blogs and comments that allows you to format text and insert pics/vids), and had to “turn off” that feature for anyone browsing Zaadz with Safari. From what Jake said, this problem has been fixed with Safari 3 beta. Unfortunately, from what I gather, if they turn back on this feature, it will be fine on those running Safari 3 beta, but messed up for those running Safari 2 or 1 (so it remains off…)
Safari 3 beta is the latest version and can be downloaded through the link in my blog. I’m also glad Zaadz is designed with Macs :)
Phil - exactly. As soon as we’re confident that we can turn it on without problem for Safari 3 users and still leave it *off* for people using older versions of Safari, we’ll turn it back on.
Also, there are a few Ubuntu (Linux) guys and several of us also have Windows for testing to make sure everything works in IE.
But I’d be pretty sad if I couldn’t use my own site in my favorite browser ;)
Testing - testing…. :)
